Item 01 · The marking currency

How marks are booked.

Edexcel doesn't pay for recall alone — it pays across four assessment objectives, and the exchange rate favours judgement. Every question here is written and marked against the same four ledgers.

AO1KnowledgeQuote the concept precisely — definitions, formulae, theory. The entry fee, not the profit.
AO2ApplicationAnchor it in the case — the firm's numbers, market and constraints. Generic answers earn generic marks.
AO3AnalysisBuild the causal chain: because → so → which means. Link by link, to a consequence that matters.
AO4EvaluationMake the judgement and condition it — "it depends on…" — then conclude. Where top-band answers are won.
Item 02 · The audit trail

Every strong answer leaves the same trail.

Examiners credit a chain, not a heap. We drill the K-A-A-E chain until it's reflex — and our case-style "apply" questions drop every concept into a real business context, so the application habit is built in, not bolted on.
